The BWO1 is Yanagisawa's 'Professional' Baritone Saxophone.

Renowned across the world for its exceptional quality and superb performance across all genres, the BWO1 is free-blowing and produces a superior tone.

The new baritone range features improvements to the strap ring, key guard, bow brace, tone holes, pinky key and neck pipe (see below).

Bell Brace

Balanced Tri-Point Brace - the bell and body are firmly linked by a three-point, balanced brace which ensures structural resilience and firm resonance, even when fortissimo is sought.

Bell Key Buffer

Plastic Adjustable - the buffers used on the bell keys are plastic and fully adjustable so the aperture of the bell toneholes are within your control.

Bore and Tone Holes

Redesigned tone holes to improve the intonation.

Bow Brace

Upper Brace - redesigned upper bow brace.

C# - Bb Keys

C# / Bb Rocking Keys - the C# and Bb keys have a rocking table / see-saw mechanism that allows for optimal speed and fluidity between these pitches.

Engraving

Hand Engraved - each Yanagisawa saxophone is hand engraved by highly skilled craftsmen.

F Auxiliary Key

This mechanism fitted to the F-Aux key ensures a proper seal of the pads when playing in the low ranges of the saxophone.

Key Decoration

White Shell Lining - a players fingers will rest comfortably in the indented white shell keys. The white shell also enhances the beauty of the instrument while also preventing the players fingers from slipping during technical passages.

Key Guard

Right Hand Guard - newly designed right hand guard exclusive to baritones.

Key Work Mounting

Body Mounted - the standard design for most regular saxes, the keys are mounted directly to the saxophone body.

Low A Key

Redesigned Key - the low A thumb key has been redesigned for smoother fingering.

Neck Pipe

Pipe Plate - new plate has been added thus tightening the sound from middle to high registers.

Octave System

Fluororesin Non-Stick Mechanism - as standard octave mechanisms can get sticky over time, Yanagisawa's flouroresin, non-stick coating ensures a reliable action with no stickiness.

Pad Type

Air Tight Waterproof Pads - Yanagisawa's superb waterproof pad is totally air tight which allows complete confidence in the instruments tonal integrity, plus the waterproof material offers a greatly extended pad life.

Pivot Screws

Pointed Pivot Screws - special pointed pivot screws are used in all centre arms on Yanagisawa saxophones,. These screws precisely maintain the stability of the centre arms, and help achieve a very high precision action.

Right Pinky Key

Redesigned Key - new pinky key angle for smoother fingering.

Spring Type

Blue Steel Springs are better than stainless steel - as used on most other saxes - as they hold tension more effectively, and therefore enhance the key action.
