The Yamaha YCR-6610T is a professional E♭ soprano cornet that was designed primarily for the British-style brass band market. Although it has been discontinued for some years, it remains a highly regarded instrument and is still sought after by brass band soprano players.
The design philosophy was similar to Yamaha's professional specialty brass instruments of the era: excellent intonation, quick response, and a relatively easy upper register. Players often describe it as having a clear, focused sound rather than the broader, darker sound associated with some modern soprano cornets.
